Author Guidelines

Here are the guidelines for writing the manuscripts:

  1. The articles must be original and have never been published or are being submitted to another journal. The articles should be about social sciences, politics, and humanities. The manuscripts should be 4,500-6,000 words or 12-17 pages long, single space using A-4 paper size.
  2. The name of the author should be written without academic titles and placed under the title of the article, followed by the name of the institution and mailing address (email or phone number). If the manuscript is written by a team, all members of the team must be written. However, the editor only deals with the main author or corresponding author.
  3. The articles should be written in English correctly in the form of a journal article. The title of the article should be capitalized and placed in the center. The subtitles should be aligned to the left without numbering.
  4. The articles should be written in the following systematic order: title; author’s name; address of institution and correspondence (e-mail address); abstract (200 words: The abstract must present a concise summary of the entire manuscript, including the background, research problem, research objectives, the study’s position within existing literature, methodology, and key findings.); keywords; introduction (containing research problems, current scientific situation, may refer to the literature on which research is based); method; results and discussion (reinforced by relevant research theories or findings); conclusion; credits/thanks; bibliography.
  5. Referral sources should be up-to-date (the last ten years). Primary referral sources are preferable (research articles in scientific journals or research reports).
  6. The information of citations/references are written in brackets. Mention the pages of direct quotations, for example: ... (Michael, 2000).
  7. The bibliography is listed according to APA style. If there are sources that can be accessed online, please include them in the reference list, such as DOI or website links. These sources must be hyperlinked in the reference list. An example is as follows
  8. Authors are required to submit a BibTeX file downloaded from the bibliography management application (if you use mendeley, you can see how to download it here).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • If the author requests the withdrawal of his/her manuscript while it is still in the peer-review process, the author will be penalized by paying a fee determined by the journal editor
  • If the manuscript is withdrawn after it has been accepted for publication, the author will be penalized by paying a fee determined by the journal editor.
  • If an article published as 'Article in Press' contains errors, is an accidental duplicate, or violates the journal's ethics (e.g., multiple submissions, false authorship, plagiarism, or fraudulent data), it may be withdrawn from the Journal of Political Issues website. The article's content (PDF) will be removed and replaced with a withdrawal notice. In such cases, the author will incur a penalty as determined by the journal editor.
  • If the author request to withdraw a manuscript, an official letter signed by the corresponding author and agency leader must be sent to the Editor in Chief.
  • Authors are required to ensure that the article follows the template provided by us.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • If the author does not agree to pay the penalty, both the author and their affiliation will be blacklisted from publishing in this journal for a period of 3 years.
  • The published article will be subject to a fee. Information on author fees and fast-track options can be found in the Article Processing Charges section under the Editorial Policies menu or you can contact the journal editor for further details.

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Atribusi-Non Commercial-Share Alike (CC BY-NC-SA).
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Every publication (printed/electronic) are open access for educational purposes, research, and library. Other than the aims mentioned above, the editorial board is not responsible for copyright violation.
