Journal of Political Issues is published twice a year. Each volume consists of two issues. Issue 1 covers the period from February to July, while Issue 2 covers the period from August to January of the following calendar year.

This means that a single volume may span two calendar years. For example, Volume 1 Issue 1 covers February to July 2019, while Volume 1 Issue 2 covers August 2019 to January 2020.
