Political Activism of Women in Political Parties: A Phenomenological Study on Women Politicians in Banten
Aktivisme Politik Kaum Perempuan dalam Partai Politik: Studi Fenomenologi pada Politisi Perempuan di Banten
Abstract
The focus of this article examines the political activism of women party cadres or women politicians in the Banten area. The urgency of this study is due to the intersection of discourse between women's activism, party organization, and patriarchal culture in the Banten region, in Indonesia in general. We use a qualitative method with the Creswell phenomenological approach. The results of the research are findings about the meaning of political activism from women politicians meaning that women struggle to achieve gender justice and pro-women policies. Furthermore, the reconstruction and projection of the thoughts of women politicians in politics and government, namely: (1) holistic efforts to build representative awareness and the potential of women politicians in political parties; (2) optimizing affirmative action policies in politics and governance as a whole; (3) full support from political parties and their elites in providing proportional opportunities and opportunities for women politicians.
