Journal of Political Issues is a scholarly journal published by the Department of Political Science, Universitas Bangka Belitung. This journal is dedicated to advancing academic discourse in the field of political science and its closely related disciplines, including public administration, international relations, public policy, and political sociology. The journal’s primary focus is the publication of original scholarly works that examine contemporary political issues within local, national, and global contexts.

The scope of this journal encompasses a wide range of topics in political studies, including but not limited to political theory and philosophy, systems of governance and bureaucracy, democracy and political participation, decentralization and regional autonomy, elections and party systems, identity politics and gender, social movements and civil society, international relations and foreign policy, security studies and conflict resolution, public policy and governance, citizenship and human rights, as well as political research methodology. The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that offer enriched perspectives on political dynamics across various levels.

Journal of Political Issues publishes research articles based on empirical data, conceptual analyses, and critical reflections on contemporary academic debates. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure scholarly rigor and integrity.

As an open access journal, Journal of Political Issues is committed to the broad dissemination of knowledge and encourages the exchange of academic ideas among researchers, scholars, practitioners, and students engaged in the study of politics, governance, and public affairs.

Accreditation Announcement – Journal of Political Issues

With great appreciation, we are pleased to announce that the Journal of Political Issues has officially been accredited with SINTA 3 status, based on the Decree of the Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset, dan Teknologi - Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia No. 177/E/KPT/2024 concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals for the Second Period of 2024, dated October 15, 2024. This accreditation is effective starting from Volume 1, Issue 2, published in 2020.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in our continuous efforts to improve journal management, the quality of article content, and our scholarly contribution to the development of political science studies in Indonesia. Moving forward, we are committed to further enhancing our editorial quality, publication standards, and academic reach, in order to attain higher accreditation and become a leading reference in the field of political science.
