Improving Surakarta City Governance through Partnership with Rikolto in 2022

Peningkatan Tata Kelola Pemerintah Kota Surakarta Melalui Kerjasama Dengan Rikolto Pada Tahun 2022

Abstract

This research examines the paradiplomacy activities of the Surakarta City government in collaboration with Rikolto International, with a focus on enhancing government service capabilities to provide safe and healthy food to the citizens. The practice of paradiplomacy in Indonesia has been regulated by the central government in KEMENDAGRI regulation number 25 of 2020. This qualitative study explores the scheme and benefits of paradiplomacy practices implemented by the Surakarta City government. Primary data consists of official documents from BAPPEDA Surakarta City, while secondary data includes accredited research articles from the past five years. The research reveals that the cooperation scheme between the Surakarta City government and Rikolto is a continuation of the Ministry of Home Affairs' initiative. The collaboration has resulted in programs such as Kantin Sekolah Sehat Ramah Anak and urban agriculture extension projects that contribute to local governance improvements in the fields of food and education.
